A Tail as Old as Thyme

A Student-Led Mediterranean Culinary and Wildlife Expo

Dive into the rich flavors and fascinating fauna of the Mediterranean region at this unique school event. Students will showcase an array of Mediterranean dishes they’ve cooked, from savory spanakopita to delightful baklava. But that’s not all—our science fair component will focus on animals native to the Mediterranean area. Learn about the intriguing survival tactics of the fennec fox or the migratory patterns of flamingos. It’s a feast for both your palate and your mind!

Parents and students can participate in the “Olive Pit Spitting Contest” or take a “Walk on the Wild Side,” a guided tour that explores the herbs and plants native to the Mediterranean. Don’t miss the keynote speech by local chef Herb N. Spice, who will delve into the interconnectedness of food and nature in the Mediterranean ecosystem.

This event promises to be an educational journey through taste and discovery, elevating your understanding of a region that’s as rich in biodiversity as it is in culinary tradition.
